Our Technology teams are small agile, DevOps teams which take accountability for designing, testing and operating our systems 24x7x365.

Our structure is organised around a Service Oriented Architecture approach, as a member of our team you'll be able to work in the following areas:

Strategy: Researching future technologies, setting the vision for Tesco Technology and our approach to building cutting-edge solutions to serve our customers better.

Products: Developing and running systems our customers and colleagues interact with every day.

Business Services: Developing and running the core components of our enterprise that underpin all of our technology products.

Technical Services: Building the physical, virtual and cloud platforms needed to run our high-performance solutions.

Capability: Coaching and mentoring our teams to encourage agile ways of working, centralising the very best toolsets to aid continuous improvement, continuous implementation and continuous delivery.

There are a variety of opportunities within Tesco Technology giving you the chance to:

  • Design, develop, test and run software that provides high quality features for customers and colleagues.
  • Implement great technology solutions by being a hands on technology expert that set the technical direction and works closely with engineering teams to realise great Tesco Products and Services.
  • Improve ways of working across Tesco Technology by designing, implementing and being a champion for new processes & tools, to make things simpler for colleagues, add value for customers and deliver profit for Tesco.
  • Work alongside our business colleagues and use our expertise to define problems and opportunities, writing product requirements which consider data driven insight constraints.

Our teams are self-organising and cross-functional, the types of skills you’ll need fall into three areas:

Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of computing fundamentals
  • Java or .NET development (experience required depends on role)
