The Group Strategy team at Tesco is at the forefront of the huge transformational changes we – and the industry more broadly – are going through.

Being part of Group Strategy at this time means that you will be at the forefront of strategic decision-making at a pivotal point in the Group's history, as we are responsible for tackling the big strategic questions the business faces, be that at a corporate, country or business unit level.

“If you're passionate about retail and want to solve some of the most challenging strategic problems facing the industry today, Group Strategy at Tesco is the place to be.”

Group Strategy works on a project basis, with projects encompassing both corporate strategy and business strategy. Examples of previous projects include the review of our corporate portfolio, the turnaround plan for our international markets and the assessment of future options for our business units.

We typically work in close collaboration with the rest of the business in their respective business units. We also support in evaluating the strategic rationale of proposed acquisitions, partnerships or divestments.

The length, type and complexity of projects will vary, as will their location; although much of our work is in the UK, we are an international business and hence the role may require international travel.

As a member of Group Strategy, you will be focused on a single project at a time, in which you will drive the content development, manage the day-to-day activity and engage the relevant stakeholders across the broader Tesco business.

You will support the broader team in the problem solving process of other projects, to contribute to the development of the team’s knowledge base and to support other team activities such as recruiting and people development.
