It's very interesting to meet the business leaders directly and to hear their views and thoughts face to face - great experience so early on in my career.

I joined as an Internal Auditor last year and have worked on a variety of projects. These have included reviewing how we consume and purchase energy in the UK and manage a review team globally; reviewing the processes around how we build stores in the UK; reviewing Tesco Personal Finance processes to monitor customers and associated markets; and a review of commercial income in Poland.

I chose Tesco because after my experience within a large accountancy firm, I wanted to join a large organisation that was based in retail industry. As you can see, so far, I've visited a wide range of areas within Tesco. I've also met with very senior people and it's always very interesting to meet the business leaders directly and to hear their views and thoughts face to face - great experience so early on in my career.

The business is always moving fast, so at times it's hard to keep up and to understand how certain areas of the business work. It is however, a very supportive environment and people pull together to make sure an overall objective or tight deadline is met. This can mean longer hours every now and then, but we all share information and experiences and rise to the challenge. No matter how hard it gets, the success we achieve is a great motivator for everyone.
