New/Extension Store Productivity

Just as I've grown, so my role has grown with me.

Twelve years on, I would never have thought I'd still be at Tesco - especially as I only joined because it was close to my home and offered hours which fitted in with my studies! The fact that I am still here, I think, says a lot about the company.

Currently, I'm based in Welwyn Garden City, where I provide New/Extension Stores with payroll information, enabling each one to meet their payroll budgets. It's busy and sometimes hectic but it also offers lots of varied work and I'm surrounded by an extremely supportive team.

This brings me to another good reason to work at Tesco - the team-working ethic is extremely strong. Also, things never stand still. My responsibility started as New Store scheduling and administration. Then it grew to reviewing our ways of working, improving the spreadsheets our team uses and making the role simpler. Just as I've grown, so my role has grown with me.

It's hard to say where I'll be in, say, three years time. Still with Tesco I'd imagine - possibly in a different role, possibly a different department, possibly even a different country. Whichever way I go though, experience has shown that I'll get more than adequate training to achieve my objectives and quite literally a world of opportunities.
