"And when I joined, I discovered the people at Tesco were a really friendly team who were eager to help my professional development."
"I started as a Pharmacist at Tesco in their Finchley store. After a year, I was promoted to Pharmacy Manager. Then, in 2005 I was promoted again to my current role.
"From a pharmaceutical point of view, I'd always viewed Tesco as a professional and forward thinking company. I also knew that they offered great career opportunities, support and a good benefits package. And when I joined, I discovered the people at Tesco were a really friendly team who were eager to help my professional development.
"Now I'm responsible for the Pre-Registration Programme. I recruit pharmacy graduates for their training year and manage their training programme, so that, hopefully, at the end of the year they can qualify as pharmacists.
"I think what's exciting about my career at Tesco is how it's changed so much. I worked in-store before and am now in an office environment - something I'd never experienced until now. So, I'm not actually a practising pharmacist anymore, but I still use a lot of the aspects of pharmacy in training the graduates.
"Also, even though I'm not 'front line' anymore, because I'm training the pharmacists of the future, it's still the customers who will benefit. And to help ensure we make the training as good as possible, I can use my experience of working with customers and the pharmacy team at Tesco to help shape it. For the new pharmacists coming through and Tesco customers, it's a 'win-win' situation."
