I was encouraged all the way to advance myself and aim for bigger and better roles in the company.

I moved to TPF in March 2001 as Marketing Executive, managing the production of Point of Sale materials and leaflets. I now specialise in looking for in-store promotional opportunities for TPF. I also work closely with Corporate Marketing and try to negotiate extra marketing space!

This is a role that I enjoy very much and is a stark contrast to how I first envisaged Tesco. Before I joined, I thought they'd be a very strict company with a rigid structure that would make it hard to move around if you didn't have the right qualifications and experience. However, I soon realised the exact opposite was true. In fact, I was encouraged all the way to advance myself and aim for bigger and better roles.

As I said, I'm very happy in my role but if I was dissatisfied or just fancied a change I know I'd be supported to develop and move into a new one pretty much anywhere within the business. But TPF are continually developing new products, which will need new ways to promote them - so the job's changing all the time and I'm still learning, so certainly no plans to move in the foreseeable future.
