"The staff are all very friendly and when it's very busy there's always a friendly face to help you out too. Everyone pulls together as a team."

"I joined Tesco when I was 16, working one day a week at a store in Bridgend. While I was there I qualified as a Pharmacy Counter Assistant. During 2001-2005, I studied Pharmacy at Cardiff University and managed to get a transfer to the Pharmacy at the Cardiff Extra store from 2001-2003 and then transferred to Bridgend in 2003 to decrease my hours, which was a great help. Then, during 2005-2006 I completed my pre-registration year at Tesco in Cheltenham, in order to qualify as a Pharmacist. And it's fair to say I was supported by Tesco every step of the way.

"In the Pharmacy, the work can be fast paced, so you need to keep your wits about you and be aware of when other members of staff need support. The staff are all very friendly and when it's very busy there's always a friendly face to help you out too. Everyone pulls together as a team.

"I hope to carry on my career with Tesco and I'd like to be a Pharmacy Manager in three years time. On a personal basis, I would also get a lot of satisfaction in helping a pre-registration through their year, because I really appreciated the support Tesco gave me. It's funny to think that before I joined Tesco I only perceived it as the place where mum and dad did the weekly shopping!"
