Where do you fit in? Commercial - Non-Food Hardlines

Step into a Tesco store, and it's pretty obvious we're serious about expanding our non-food range. That means an even bigger choice of everything from flat screen TVs to wooden train sets - not to mention just about everything else in between.

The growth in hardlines

It's no secret that our non-food business in the UK is growing incredibly fast - at over 13% a year. When you consider that the retail market is relatively flat at the moment, that's quite an achievement.

Where next?

Despite the fact we're already big, there's plenty of scope for more success. In fact, we only have around 7% of the UK's non-food expenditure... while a quarter of UK households can easily get to one of our 118 Extra stores.

Other developments include offering more non-food items online, and extending our successful trial of non-food stores.

But at the end of the day, some things never change - like going to the best suppliers around the world, buying for less and passing on the savings to our customers.
