Our part in the changing Tesco

Putting the customer first is all about cutting the time from supply to shop floor. We also need to ensure processes are in place to meet changes in demand, often driven by unpredictable events.

Get it right, and we'll have even more delighted customers.

However, while systems and procedures are definitely a big part of our success, the real secret of our store ordering is our people. Lots of them.

The Store Ordering Team who orders the stock in to depots, are based in Cheshunt and Welwyn Garden City. Working with them, the Network Planning Team in Brackmills and Welwyn Garden City manage the stock into stores - as well planning the stock for events like Christmas and the World Cup.

Oh, and we've got a team in Brackmills to make sure suppliers get the right stock to depots on time.

Systems Teams

Teams in Cheshunt, Welwyn Garden City and Cardiff look after our stock ordering systems and store systems.

Analysis Team

This team helps us improve our systems, as well as keeping a close eye on our availability performance.

Project Teams

These teams look at how we can improve availability of goods in our stores - a bare shelf is a wasted shelf and a potentially disappointed customer.
