Your skills could suit many different areas - find out what the options are.
Some of our most successful Managers began working with us at night. That's because excellent training, career development and exciting challenges don't stop when the sun goes down. In fact, we think they get even bigger.
Night Manager
An entire store will be in your hands between 10pm and 7am. That means you'll have a large team of up to 100 people to manage, with potentially 5 Managers and 6 Team Leaders to support you.
There'll be deliveries of cages to get in-store safely and, most importantly, you'll have customers to keep happy too. And if that doesn't sound challenging enough, you'll also be making sure your store hits targets, delivers ever greater standards of service and acts as a responsible neighbour within the community.
If this prospect excites you - then you sound like just the kind of manager we want to talk to. Of course, you'll need a great track record in retail management, gained in a replenishment department, and a genuine understanding of the importance of coaching and supporting your team to work both flexibly and smart. Above all, you'll need the enthusiasm and drive to keep your store running smoothly through the night, plus the personal ambition to make the most of the great promotion opportunities that'll inevitably come your way.
Night Duty Manager (Selected stores only)
In this role you'll be working alongside both the Grocery / Fresh / Non-Food Night Managers and the Night Manager to deliver 'Every Little Helps' for staff and customers alike.
You'll ensure all areas of the store run smoothly to allow the Management team to deliver ongoing training, coaching and development of their staff. While maintaining operational standards, you'll act as the main contact for our customers, ensuring all queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
As well as a high level of energy and commitment, you'll need to be flexible and adaptable because every night will bring a different challenge. (From time to time you may need to cover for the Grocery / Fresh / Non-Food Night Managers during holidays and absence.) If you already have strong leadership and influencing skills and are looking to develop towards a bigger role, then this is a great opportunity for you.
Grocery / Fresh / Non-Food Night Managers
Our customers always expect the very freshest products to be on our shelves whenever they need them - even if that means the middle of the night! And that's where you come in. Leading our night time Grocery, Fresh or Non Food teams, you'll make sure everything in store is perfect for our customers - by taking charge of everything from restocking shelves and managing stock movements, to organising the warehouse and training others to work to your high standards.
Succeed, and your hard work through the night will have a huge impact on our business the next day. Duty Manager experience is a must, but you'll also need to be a natural leader, able to support your team and give them the flexibility they need to do their job well.
You'll also need to be keen to learn and develop your career quickly because retail stars really shine out at night.
