Role

This role is to act as a Network Engineer for Tesco Dotcom. The candidate would be expected to act as the first line of support for all network issues and working with the other team members to resolve any problems. Being responsible for the development and test environments, evaluating all network requests and deploying the changes where necessary.

Deliverables

• First line of support for any network issues.
• Keeping all network devices up to the recommended code versions.
• Installation of all new network equipment.
• Making sure all network devices are being monitored by network management systems.
• Running monthly capacity planning reports and recommending any upgrades where necessary.

Candidate Profile

Experience

A working knowledge of all areas of networking and specifically ecommerce web sites. The candidate must have good communication skills and be able to work well within a team dynamic.

Technical Expertise

• A working knowledge of all Cisco technologies, for example routing, switching, load balancing, firewalls etc.
• A working knowledge for DNS and an understanding of the world wide web.
• Basic knowledge of PCs / Macs and servers.
