Corporate Marketing - Marketing Manager - Market Research (Strategic Insight)

Job Specification:

The key purpose of the role is to deliver actionable insight to the business through the Customer Spotlight, the Brand Review and other ad-hoc research (including some input into People Insight, our research with Tesco staff). You will be responsible for pulling together findings from the different teams within insight, other areas of the business and from our agencies to help write key reports like the Customer Spotlight. You will use my skills in project management and in understanding research and data to ensure we identify and communicate action for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To spot patterns and trends in data and relate it to business activity
  • Identify events outside the business that will impact customers and Tesco
  • Set up and interpret research to answer key business questions
  • Use information from pulses, trackers, and other research to highlight areas of focus for the business
  • Be able to identify opportunities to improve existing processes, reports, and research methodologies
  • Ensure that reports are written in a timely, insightful, and accurate way
  • Work effectively with other areas of the business to advise on research/Insight best practice, existing research and sharing
  • Be able to influence at a high level

Ability to spot trends and interpret customer behaviour, relating to both Tesco and the wider retail market

Good knowledge of all standard IT applications, especially Powerpoint and Excel

Ability to work with people at all levels, internal and external
