Job Specification:

We are currently presenting the opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join our Papershop team.

As Assistant Buyer, your role will be to manage the category returns process for Newspapers, Magazines and Books. You will influence the number of copies of magazines and newspapers supplied to Tesco to appropriate levels. Develop and manage comprehensive measures and measurement of Direct supplier activity, manage implementation of promotional activity by suppliers and stores and support implementation of category initiatives with suppliers and stores.

Your responsibilities will be to:

Participate in negotiations with suppliers aiming to maximise product availability using supplier and in the future CR, reporting

Develop a solid understanding the supply chains

Use RASCAL(Magazine Returns Management) data to manage supplier service improvements and highlight store performance issues

Use the papershop field team to drive performance improvements and resolve local issues with suppliers or stores

Challenge suppliers to develop improved service levels for Tesco stores

Challenge suppliers for improved understanding of store allocation and supply requirements

Be involved in category to store communications to support store level delivery of category activity

Candidate Specification:

The successful individual will have Buying experience within a multi site retail consumer business, good commercial awareness and previous negotiation skills.
