Job Specification:

Tesco are presenting the opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join our Electricals team.

As an Assistant Buyer, your role will include assisting in creating profitable customer driven ranges and promotions for the defined product area to deliver sales and margin targets. Buy a defined product group within a buying plan to support the delivery of the customer plan. Resolve the day to day issues with suppliers, distribution and the ordering department.

Your responsibilies will be to:

Hit sales and margin targets for the defined product area and then beat them

Ensure the range contributes towards achieving the buying plan

Have a great range which gives customers a reason to shop with us across all store formats

Negotiate, with the support of my Manager, product cost and rebates to continually drive down costs for our customers

Identify and plan opportunities for promotions

Meet critical path dates

Resolve or escalate supplier issues in a timely and efficient manner

Support the merchandisers in achieving the category depot service level target

Ensure the price basket index is never less than 100

Candidate Specification:

The successful individual will have Buying experience within a multi site retail consumer business. You will be a highly motivated, hardworking team player, ready to develop your career with us.
