Job Specification:

To accelerate the growth of our Hardlines business in Central Europe we are establishing a new team based in the UK to set up a centralised buying model for some of our Home and Electrical categories. The team will create a competitive Hardlines product offer across Central Europe using International Sourcing, local suppliers and both local and global brands. The team's focus will be to develop and source quality product ranges across the countries whilst ensuring that local & regional needs are met.

This new operating model will involve changes to the current ways of working in Buying, Merchandising, IT, Supply Chain, Marketing and Retail Operations. To support these changes we are looking for people who enjoy working in a fast paced environment driving and delivering business change and improvement.

We are presenting the opportunity for an Assistant Merchandise Planner to join our Central European Team. Countries covered by the Central European team include Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Turkey.

As an Assistant Merchandise Planner, your role is to provide data and analysis to support the category Sales, Stock and Markdown targets. Through analysis of range and space performance you will create and maintain line level forecasts, supporting the Range Strategy. You will effectively manage intake plans and ensure availability is maintained within budgeted stock levels. You will prepare various reports and make recommendations to ensure sales and profit performance is maximised.

Your role and responsibilities are to:

Prepare analysis of range and space productivity to influence the Range Strategy

Create and maintain line level forecasts which support the Category Sales Plan

Collate/produce the necessary data to generate the Monday Trading Reports

Contribute to the weekly trading decisions/monthly WSSI reviews highlighting risks and opportunities, and making recommendations to ensure Sales and Profit performance is maximised.

Maintain the Range Plans with accurate data

Successfully oversee and manage the delivery schedule and intake of stock, maintaining availability within agreed budgeted stock levels

Implement agreed exit plans, clear stock from depot within agreed timescales, prepare promotional performance analysis and complete market/competitor analysis to feed into the Strategy/Trade plan

Work with the Buying Team in achieving our category depot service level target.

Candidate Specification:

The successful individual will have Merchandising experience within a multi site retail consumer business.

You will have experience in understanding Stock Planning and Critical Path Management and Microsoft applications to automate and simplify data analysis.

You will have the ability to translate large amounts of complex data into simple / relevant reports and knowledge of processing large amounts of information quickly and accurately.
