There's more to shopping with us than meets the eye. Our Commercial teams, based in our Head Office, work behind the scenes to enable us to remain competitive within the marketplace. Putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, our buyers ensure we source the right products at the right price for our customers. Our Merchandisers and Buyers work together to source, buy and deliver a great range of quality products that our customers want to buy. So which role is right for you?

Buying

Using a combination of product knowledge, in depth customer insight and previous sales results, our buyers source, negotiate and manage our range of products to ensure we continue to give our customers what they want at great prices. Developing relationships and negotiating with suppliers is an essential part of the role, as is great understanding of your customer and the product you are buying.

Merchandising

Merchandisers work closely with our sourcing hubs and suppliers around the world, to secure and manage stock, manage budgets and targets, so that all our activities ensure we have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time. The ability to work well with lots of data, meet deadlines and have plenty of attention to detail are vital to get the products from our factories to our distribution centre’s and then out to our stores.

The commercial division is incredibly fast-paced and challenging. There will be a lot to learn but we will support you all the way to give you the training you need to become an expert within your field and develop your career at Tesco and realise your potential.
