About The Analytics & Optimisation Team

The successful applicant will join the Analytics and Optimisation team, which sits within the Online Product department looking after Grocery Home Shopping, Tesco Direct, Real Food, Clubcard and Delivery Saver. The Analytics and Optimisation team is responsible for providing insight and learning to the wider Product, Trading and UX teams to help drive decision making. The team is looking to advance its optimisation practises to develop a best in class testing programme.

Main Responsibilities

The Role – Senior Optimisation Manager

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:

  • Champion the test & learn culture within Online Product, bringing together expertise from UX, Analytics and Product
  • Use relevant analytical and customer research methods to prioritise the optimisation roadmap and help to define the product development backlog
  • Promote collaboration within Online Product aligned around common goals, customer pain points and problem statements
  • Continuously look to improve the overall optimisation practice by proactively providing input into the optimisation and product testing framework
  • Identifying business areas with a lower optimisation maturity and delivering a plan to raise awareness and usage of testing in those areas
  • Develop optimisation practices around multi-variate testing, advanced targeting and personalisation to improve capacity and capabilities of the Optimisation team
  • Have a deep understanding of tools and technologies, how they work and how best to utilise them
  • Working in partnership with the Optimisation Capabilities team to enhance the ability to run complex tests using server side capability and ensuring appropriate test capability is in place across all of the main product areas
  • Deliver a testing framework that allows for quick self-serve testing which requires little input from the Optimisation team

 

Ideal candidate

To succeed in this role you’ll need:

  • To be an expert in advanced AB testing methodology and statistical analysis
  • The ability to work alongside and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Be passionate about the need for effective measurement in feature delivery and be able to articulate and prove the benefits of AB testing
  • Experience of working with Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target or other Optimisation tools

In addition, this experience is desirable:

  • Experience of AB testing on Apps
  • Experience of server side AB testing
  • Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript
