"We make sure every single person who comes into contact with Tesco has a positive experience"
We believe that it’s no longer just price, quality and convenience that matter – customers want to know exactly what Tesco stands for, and how we have a positive impact on local communities. So we’re here to tell the Tesco story in a new, compelling and relevant way. To show that, as well as creating value for customers, colleagues and shareholders, we create value for society as a whole.
Any of our 500,000-plus colleagues around the world. It could be someone from our senior leadership teams to colleagues in the office, stores, contact centres or distribution. And we also work with many different government representatives, local communities and investors. There’s also the chance to work with venture brands in the Tesco family. All in all, it’s an incredibly varied role that will bring you into contact with lots of new people.
If you join Group Communication, you’ll be working in one of our specialist teams:
We communicate the Tesco investment case and grow and retain investor and analyst support.
To build Tesco's reputation around what matters to us and our customers, through the media to all our stakeholders. Support trade by engaging and enthusing existing and potential customers through consumer PR. Innovate in digital and social media to influence all our stakeholders.
Group Internal Communications
Create a culture of communication where all colleagues are engaged to play their part in our vision to be loved by customers.
International Corporate Affairs
To enhance our reputation and build confidence in our European and Asian businesses among colleagues and stakeholders. To ensure that we have the Corporate Affairs capability and resources needed to support our international businesses and to draw on the skill and scale of the Group, where appropriate.
Group Public Policy
Our Group Public Policy team works with a huge range of stakeholder: both inside and outside the business to make the case for Tesco as an innovative and successful organisation that uses its scale for good.
In our Group Government Affairs team, you’ll engage with policy makers to demonstrate how Tesco creates value for the societies and communities where we operate. You’ll proactively champion our business case as well as responding to policies and proposals from politicians, regulators and officials around the world.
As part of our Group Corporate Responsibility team, you’ll lead our work on using our scale for good wherever we operate, focusing on our three big ambitions - reducing food waste, improving health and creating opportunities for young people – as well as the essential areas like trading responsibly and reducing our impact on the environment.
We’re looking for a great storyteller who’s able to influence internal and external stakeholders – someone who’s outgoing and genuinely interested in listening to colleagues, customers and investors. And to really succeed you’ll need fantastic communication skills, as well as an ability to analyse complex issues and exercise sound judgement.
