We became friends whilst working at Tesco Cirencester Extra in May 2006, and have been married since 2008.

During all the years we have worked here we have never felt any prejudice and truly believe everyone is welcome at Tesco.

We’re both members of Out at Tesco, and strongly feel it’s important that we support, attract and develop LGBT colleagues. The training tools available in store for managing diversity and inclusion are fantastic.

“I was on the Tesco float at Brighton Pride last year with my store director, manager and colleagues; that was an absolutely brilliant day!”

We believe at Tesco you should be proud of who you are, be yourself and bring your personality to work. Here you can do whatever your heart desires, as there are plenty of opportunities to get on. We’ve both had varied careers, having moved through a variety of manager positions whilst learning along the way from our colleagues and excellent e-learning packages. Getting youngsters to have a career at Tesco and developing part-time colleagues are what we enjoy the most about our jobs.

“I never go home without a sense of achievement.”

Holidays are what we look forward to the most, and Tesco were very supportive when we asked to take a six month career break to tour America. When it comes to company discounts; money off flights, cafés, restaurants and cinemas really help – we encourage all our new starters to sign up to Colleague Deals & Discounts straightaway!

"Tesco is a great big company; you could turn your hand to anything you want to."

If you’re thinking about a career here, get into a store, have a wander round and learn how the business works. There’s nothing stopping you from coming in and talking to a manager to get some information – networking is the most powerful way to start and move your career forward!
