About the role

Working within the Property function, you will be part of the Location Planning team, where you can expect to be at the heart of driving growth across our Portfolio by playing a key role in optimising our Property investments.  It’s an exciting time to be part of a team who are integral to identifying growth opportunities and driving Property strategy, enabling Tesco to shape it’s estate for the future. 

You will be responsible for

Building analytical models to improve Location Planning's decision making (sales forecasting models, car parking model etc)

- Reviewing performance of our estate and specific programmes of Property works to identify key drivers. Summarising this information and presenting actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders to inform better Property investment decisions.

- Inputting into strategic business projects by interrogating and interpreting spatial, financial and property data to define our portfolio strategy to help shape our estate for the future.

- Understanding the vast quantities of location, financial and property data available and how we build and maintain this in databases and systems and use it to maximum effect.

- Being the expert in our key Location Planning tools which are used in the UK & ROI team.

- Supporting and coaching team members, through sharing knowledge, experience and technical expertise.

- Identifying opportunities to improve our ways of working, aligning with our Global Location Planning teams, to ensure consistent and efficient processes.

- Following our business code of conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence

You will need

Operational skills relevant for this job:

- Mathematical mindset (degree in Maths, Sciences, Operational Research)

- Data analytics - ability to interpret large sets of data, using analytical techniques - Strong data manipulation skills (eg. Advanced Excel, SQL - Teradata, Alteryx).

- Ability to breakdown problems into analytical questions and to articulate the business value

Experience relevant for this job:

- 2+ years experience in previous analytical role

- Understanding of spatial data (desirable but not essential)

- Presenting complex information to senior stakeholders, in a clear simple way
