About the role

The Compliance Assurance Manager reports to the Head of Business Integrity, but will work closely with the Regulatory, Ethics & Compliance Director (in situations of potential conflict of interest with the Head of Business Integrity).
 

You will be responsible for

  • Developing the compliance assurance strategy with the REC Director and translating the strategy into a series of specific actions throughout each year;
  • Working with Legal and, where required, other compliance risk owners to develop appropriate and measurable compliance KPIs for compliance programmes; 
  • Overseeing and conducting bi-annual compliance assurance activity in business units around the Group to test implementation of compliance programmes, including anti-bribery, competition law, fraud and associated policies;
  • Reporting, including to the Group Risk & Compliance Committee, on implementation and effectiveness of compliance programmes, including proposals for improvements;
  • Overseeing the work of a shared Data Analyst (WL1) who will support with compliance monitoring activities that require the review of large datasets, and 
  • Developing and overseeing the implementation and operation of the GSCOP assurance programme, including reporting on compliance with GSCOP to Legal and business stakeholders.

You will need

  • Previous work experience worked in a Legal, Compliance, Audit or Finance role or environment 
  • A professional qualification in these fields is preferred.  
  • Experience of auditing or monitoring compliance with legislation or internal policies, including preparing detailed analyses and compliance reports.  Well-versed in, or be willing to learn about, recognised compliance monitoring standards (eg COSO/SCCE/ISO).  
  • Experience of using GRC tools, including Origami, is preferred.
  • Proven experience to analyse and interrogate large quantities of information; draw appropriate conclusions and present these clearly in both written and verbal form, 
  • Experience to operate with confidence when dealing with senior business stakeholders.
  • Experience of dealing sensitively and professionally with complex situations, such as determining or presenting evidence of breach of policy or regulation.   
  • Open to travel and will be respectful of cultural differences around the Group.
