About the role

We’re looking for a dynamic Product Manager to help us craft world class products that users love.

You will be responsible for

  • Managing the whole lifecycle of a product from discovery to launch.  
  • Defining, shaping and prioritising our innovation prototype backlog.
  • Collaborating with designers, engineers and researchers to run experiments in order to achieve validated learning.
  • Analysing data and carrying out primary research to truly understand your users, competitors and industry
  • Monitoring and understanding the potential of new technologies and business models, identifying and developing new opportunities for Tesco.
  • Evangelizing the product design process, being a champion for brilliant customer experience, contributing to product design and UX standards to be adopted across the team.
  • Build relationships across the business to support the work that Labs does and share clear learning and outcomes.

You will need

This role will best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is well organised, pragmatic and a lateral thinker who is motivated to make change for the better and most importantly, puts our customers first.



  • 18 months experience working in high growth/start-up/small team environments.
  • Experience taking a new idea, product or service from zero to the point of a working experiment or trial. This includes:
    • Managing an ideation phase.
    • Working with the team to prototype an experiment or trial.
    • Setting and tracking OKR’s or KPI’s for the experiment or trial.
    • Reporting findings to senior stakeholders and making decisions with the team about next steps.
  • Experience having presented effectively to senior stakeholders within an organisation.
  • Experience working with external partners, to assess viable opportunities and create joint propositions/POC’s of mutual value.
  • The hybrid nature of Labs product roles are such that they also demand enthusiasm for research and user experience and a natural ability to present novel or complex ideas, simply.


  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Great interpersonal and presentation skills. Comfortable interacting with all levels of management.
  • Tenacious can-do, will-do mentality. Enthusiastic about challenging the status quo and thinking expansively.

  • You’re driven to build the best possible user experience, and you monitor your metrics to see whether you’re delivering
  • You’re comfortable working in a technical team that deals with ambiguity every day
  • Solid technical understanding and comfortable having technical conversations. Understands the possibilities of online technologies and knows when to challenge and ask questions.
  • Has experience working across the full lifecycle of web or mobile development projects – define, design, develop and deliver.
  • Able to demonstrate exposure to and experience of core development skills – information architecture, user journeys, wireframe design, testing and design briefs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrable experience required. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Passionate about innovation, new technology and customer trends.
