About the role

We are seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to join us here at our impressive Head Office in Welwyn Garden City, leading a small team responsible for providing all UK Tesco colleagues with benefits that are valued, accessible, and provide real savings.

You will be responsible for

  • Identifying the strategic direction of the Benefits agenda to support the wider Reward strategy, with accountability for implementation
  • Forward planning to obtain the relevant governance for approval to projects, advise leadership on the business case for change or investment, and support the team in their project delivery
  • Identifying, developing and ensuring the implementation of (a) changes in line with government led initiatives, (b) changes in line with business developments, and (c) process improvement opportunities
  • Representing the Tesco Benefits agenda externally to provide benchmarking, and maintain external relationships
  • Ensuring that we continue to offer colleagues benefits that are compliant and offer great savings
  • Ensuring that we deliver the Benefits agenda within the operational budget, identifying opportunities for cost reduction
  • Supporting the transformation agenda to integrate into business as usual
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
  • Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best

You will need

  • Practical knowledge and experience of Benefits Management
  • Ability to manage a high performing team
  • Experience of project management within a matrix organisation
  • Previous experience in managing a large budget (£1m+) 
  • Skilled at creating and setting visions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Other skills required include:

  • Vision setting
  • Coaching and facilitation 
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Numerate and attentive to detail
