About the role

This role will lead the Group Treasury operations function including day to day back office and systems activities. In this role you will drive continuous improvement in the efficiency, security and control of daily treasury activities. You will also be a subject matter expert informing the discussion across finance and technology on best practice payments systems structures and operation.

You will be responsible for

Operations

  • Lead the day to day activities of the Treasury systems and back office teams in the UK and TBS
  • Responsible for the effective management of all treasury systems ,interfaces, banking platforms and vendors
  • Development of Treasury systems and processes towards the "Best in Class" goal
  • Responsible for an effective and robust Back Office control environment
  • Development, maintenance and assessment of internal and business processes and controls, including systems, operational processes and BCP
  • Ensure the Groups Treasury regulatory reporting and regulatory compliance activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, meeting deadlines as required
  • Lead the group's Transactional banking activities, including simplification of bank accounts and liquidity structures
  • Develop and maintain the operational relationship with HSBC and other banking partners, through to a senior level

Global support function

  • Provide expert advice to country finance directors, local Treasury teams, Fusion design teams and the general business in regards to Treasury process, controls, systems, payments, banking interfaces, statements etc.
  • Keep abreast of technology developments in payments and liquidity management and sponsor their adoption across the group to drive process improvement

Team

  • Leading the Operations team, coaching and developing the 2 team members to high performance and giving them the opportunity to realise their potential.
  • Working closely with the Bengaluru Treasury team providing support and feedback on performance, developing the TBS service model concept
  • Helping to build a cohesive & collaborative Group Treasury team, and enhancing the reach and reputation of Group Treasury across Tesco.

  • Specialist knowledge of Treasury processes, payments systems & processes and liquidity management optimisation in a large international corporate
  • Experience of working with cross-functional teams.
  • Track record in driving continuous improvement.
  • International Treasury experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Understanding of banking instruments, procedures and dealing practices
  • Strong Treasury control and risk focus
  • Managing multiple stakeholders
  • Leading a high performing team
  • ACA/CIMA and/or AMCT/MCT desirable
