You will be responsible for

We are recruiting for a new Ladies/Kids Assistant Designer. The Ladies/Kids Assistant Designer role is across the essential’s division covering, sleepwear, loungewear, print and soft underwear. Experience from some or all these product areas would be great! There is a lot of autonomy for an Assistant Designer in this role.

As an Assistant Designer you will be responsible for creating and designing on-trend multi-product ranges alongside the designer, conducting competitor research, creating trend & mood boards, along with tech packs. You will work closely the buying team and garment techs, along with external suppliers following up on samples, creating garment specs, sourcing and advising on fabrics.

The ideal applicant must have previous design experience working at an assistant designer position. You must have excellent multi-product design skills and good knowledge of fabrics and garment construction. You must possess strong communication, presentation, and have advanced I.T and CAD skills using Illustrator, Photoshop and Outlook. With previous experience working with internal buyers, garment technologists, and external suppliers would be preferred.

You will need

The Role

  • Work across ladies/kids multi product – printed sleepwear, loungewear and soft underwear.
  • Create mood boards through trend research, competitive shops and catwalk inspiration.
  • Be responsible for sourcing fabric and trims and liaising with suppliers and in country hubs.
  • Present findings to the Head of Design/Head of Buying and be prepared to present in meetings with Buyers.
  • Have a strong commercial eye for print and colour.
  • Work on any design projects as instructed by the Designer/Head of Design.
  • Creating technical drawings and specs, working closely with the factories where required.
  • Work alongside the Garment Technologists in to ensure samples are finished to a high standard and are fit for purpose.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as all Microsoft Office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Designer with an exceptional eye for detail and a commercial eye for the latest trends! You will be highly organised, a good communicator and able to develop and maintain good relationships with your team and customers. Previous experience in fast fashion will be key.
