About the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Tesco supplier approval programmes, to drive improvements in standards throughout our supply chains, and protect the Tesco brand. You will gain exposure to the global business, building relationships with Tescos internal and external stakeholders, including industry leaders like GlobalG.A.P. and Red Tractor. The role requires quick thinking in a fast paced environment but also includes long term improvement-driving projects.

You will be responsible for

  • Taking the lead for our Horticulture supplier standards and technical approval programme.
  • Developing technical standards, policies and other documentation relating to products, suppliers, auditors and Audit Service Providers, Supporting the delivery and promotion of continuously improved Food and Non-Food technical approval standards, technical policies and supplier and colleague guidance material
  • Supporting the management of all our supplier approval programmes, working closely with the Standards and Audit Managers managing Audit Service Providers, including performance reporting and audit scheduling queries.
  • Support our Product technical teams through the supplier audit process from audit date scheduling to close out of non-conformances raised during the audit.

You will need

Operational Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication

  • Commercial awareness

Relevant Experience:

  • >2 years experience in related industry
  • Technical background with manufacturing, production, supply chain, retail or auditing background preferable
  • Basic project management skills
  • Basic stakeholder management skills
  • A good working knowledge of IT packages (Microsoft Office and SharePoint)
  • A strong IT skill set to allow for adapting to the use of Tesco internal systems
  • Either Degree level/equivalent qualification or extensive industry experience
  • Technical audit programme management and/or horticulture and/or farm assurance experience are beneficial.
