About the role

To transform how we Buy and Manage Products for Customers seismic change is underway here at Tesco and the Product Transformation team sits at its heart. Supporting the business to define how our colleagues work with each other and with our partners, ensuring processes across Buy and Manage are simple, standard and effective.

Commercial Income is a key change programme within Product Transformation and defines how we operate a key part of our business with suppliers. This role involves developing and delivering our target operating model across the Tesco Group.

You will plan and organise resources and people to make sure the agreed project outcomes are delivered within budget and timelines.

This is a highly visible role, providing you with an excellent opportunity to work closely with Senior Management.

You’ll have the satisfaction of owning the project from inception to delivery, supported by your colleagues within Product Transformation.

The role offers considerable breadth and you’ll have the benefit of working with other functions to broaden your knowledge of the business and deliver medium to large scale transformation projects that result in significant change to Tesco globally.

You will be responsible for

  • Setting up governance forums by engaging key sponsors and subject matter experts.
  • Building project business cases (incl. agreeing scope and objectives) and identifying critical success factors.
  • Managing key stakeholders and dependencies to establish ways of work and alignment of approaches.
  • Producing the initial project plan, subsequently tracking and reporting progress to the governance forum.
  • Supporting to map and record the future state of the process architecture using Aris.
  • Designing and implementing global simplification opportunities.
  • Setting up project/team budgeting, planning and deliverable creation processes.
  • Identifying and managing project risks and issues, escalating where appropriate.
  • Implementing projects on time and on budget.
  • Working closely with Change Managers to land change effectively and sustainably.
  • Managing the project team at the same time as supporting team member on the job learning.
  • Tracking project benefits after go-live against the original business case and critical success factors.
  • Capturing lessons learned in conjunction with team members and other key stakeholders.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.

You will need

  • Project Management experience within a complex large organisation framework.
  • Experience of delivering process improvement using relevant methodologies.
  • Experience of managing stakeholders outside of direct team to achieve a common goal.
  • Experience of building a Business Case and tracking delivery against this.
