About the role

We're looking for a reward subject matter expert to join us as an Executive Reward Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver reward for our most senior colleagues internationally.  You will report into the Lead Executive Reward Manager with stakeholder management for a number of business segments; Tesco Bank, Booker, Tesco Pension Investment (TPI), dunnhumby, Central Europe and Asia.

You will be responsible for the analysis and implementation of reward principles and policies, ensuring that these are competitive and economical whilst supporting the group's objectives.

The role is varied and each day will be different. Whilst not exhaustive, the below summarises your key accountabilities: -

  • Supporting senior colleagues with all aspects of reward management.
  • Playing an integral role in the delivery of annual reward for the senior Exec population; the annual salary review, annual bonus and deferred award cycles. 
  • Managing the process and delivery of reward packages for new hires.
  • Developing communications for the business and people teams, including senior management.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders across the business and people teams to advise and consult on reward policies; including cash compensation, bonus plans, incentives and benefits.
  • Providing support to the local reward managers to ensure consistency in processes and adhering to policy. - Managing any exceptions or escalations to reward policy.
  • Ensuring reward policies are fit for purpose, with reviews and updates whenever necessary.
  • Providing insights into current market trends through analysis of salary survey data and external research. - Designing, building and implementing analytical models using people and market data to forecast costs and identify potential issues.
  • Collating/reporting of data for Tesco's remuneration report.
  • Assisting in the organisation of remuneration Committee meetings, including the preparation of RemCo papers.
  • Managing small projects and/or discrete work streams.

You will need

  • Experience in a Reward or Executive Compensation based role, either in practice or in-house.
  • In-depth knowledge of the design, implementation and operation of annual reward, including the annual pay review and annual bonus cycles.
  • Technical knowledge of cash and incentive based executive compensation, including remuneration reporting and related governance.
  • Experience working in a complex and global environment.
  • Data analysis and modeling - managing and manipulating large complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of specific interventions required at a senior level during annual reward cycles and related governance.
  • Comfortable with benchmarking data in relation to salary and incentives.
  • Ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills and strong planning and organisational skills, comfortable working on multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Office.
