About the role

We are seeking an experienced Capability Manager to review, design and deliver a leading edge senior leadership and talent development project. This is an exceptional opportunity, where you will impact how we at Tesco, drive the right leadership offering now & in the future.

This is a challenging but varied role, as you will be expected to quickly navigate our structure and strategy and build business critical relationships in a short period of time.

You will be responsible for the end to end review of our existing Director offering, ensuring we have the right suppliers delivering the right content at the right time. You will have the autonomy to make recommendations for adapting / tweaking existing workshops, reviewing the existing talent development programmes and bringing a creative edge to the facilitation of these.  

 

You will be responsible for

• Review of current senior leadership and talent development offer for the Tesco Group, including re-designing and curating a senior leadership development offer for the Tesco Group where appropriate

• Working collaboratively with the Talent COE to ensure our offer is building a strong and diverse pipeline of talent

• Ensuring all learning solutions are world class and provide colleagues with the best possible learning experience

• Evaluating learning initiatives to measure the return on investment to colleagues, customers and the business and reporting at Group & Market level

• Partnering with key stakeholders to ensure we are meeting the specific needs of the different business functions and markets

• Acting as the subject matter expert for the Group leadership and talent development offer and point of reference for capability colleagues to support them in embedding leadership development across their market partnerships

• Consulting / partnering with capability colleagues and subject matter experts to build effective learning solutions that compliment our core offer

• Championing and role modeling all leadership behaviours and management skills

• Actively contributing to a culture of learning at Tesco

• Sourcing new partners and managing existing relationships with external partners ensuring all partnerships deliver value for money

• Maintaining expertise and continued professional development

• Being agile and responsive to the changing needs of the business and colleagues we serve

You will need

The successful candidate will have a full & extensive knowledge of the end to end training cycle and exceptional stakeholder management skills, in particular, building trusted relationships with a diverse group of international stakeholders. 

You will also have; 

• Excellent learning design skills (pitched particularly at senior leaders)

• Strong training delivery and facilitation to senior leaders and directors

• Excellent consulting and critical analysis skills

• Strong commercial acumen

• Able to effectively plan and organise, be responsive, creative and a self-starter

• Able to present information and data to a senior audience

• Strong communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation

• Cultural awareness

• Striving for continuous improvement, finding better ways of doing things

• Responsive to driving effective change

• Innovation and pragmatism, examples of creative solutions that really work

• Digital learning design

• Able to demonstrate knowledge of latest learning trends and how people learn
