You will be responsible for

  • You will lead your team to deliver outstanding people routines, so that every colleague feels they have a great manager, coaching managers to resolve queries around people policies and processes.
  • You will develop your managers’ skills and continually review their capability and performance, role modelling leadership behaviours inspiring your team to develop their behaviours.
  • You will create a culture where we get the basics right all the time, creating a culture where you and your managers give personal and specific recognition to celebrate success and show appreciation for the little helps every day.
  • You will develop great managers for today and leaders for tomorrow, having meaningful career conversations with your managers and creating a departmental succession plan that meets the business supply and demand needs.
  • You will know your managers and how they and their teams feel about working for Tesco, facilitating them to participate in “What Matters to You?” surveys and build action plans based on survey results.
  • You will communicate purpose, plan and progress, engaging your managers around trade and performance plans for the department, so we are working towards the same goal.
  • You will listen to customers and act on their feedback, championing the use of customer insight, leading the team to take action based on this feedback.
  • You will deliver a great shopping experience for customers every day, ensuring your team work effectively as per the operating model.
  • You will protect our brand by leading your managers to deliver legal compliance through our teams, ensuring managers and colleagues are adhering to FCA guidelines at all times.

You will need

  • Minimum 12 months experience in a sales and service field role, managing a large volume of stores (18+)
  • To live in the West Midlands/Gloucestershire or Worcestershire area. 
  • Being a great communicator at all levels, tailoring the interaction for the audience
  • Being a strong and inspiring people manager, providing clarity on the direction forwards
  • Remote/field management role
  • Influencing and key stakeholder management
  • Being positive at all times, living the leadership skills and creating an environment of continual improvement
  • Being a great coach and developer of businesses and people
  • Visual Merchandising, presentation skills and commercial accumen
  • Demonstrating strong resilience and able to embed an environment of continual improvement
  • A basic level of IT skills (spreadsheets, etc)
  • Full UK driving licence
