About the role

You will own the trade and events plan for your category, ensuring they deliver a great proposition for our customers, Tesco and suppliers

You will be responsible for

  • Driving the category trade plan that delivers a great offer for our customers
  • Review and improve the promotional programme to drive LFL performance growth and customer KPI improvements
  • Owning the successful delivery and execution of promotions for my department
  • Communicating timelines and manage delivery of customer focused trade initiatives
  • Collaborating with Formats, ensuring the GM trade and events plan is delivered right for the customer
  • Project managing the delivery of great seasonal events in my area 
  •  Managing the feature space planning process
  • Managing accurate trade and range forecasting
  • Working with Customer Proposition to communicate and report on market key trends to category teams
  • Presenting category plans at Product Reviews and Customer Experience Reviews for sign off
  • Ensuring all key initiatives are clearly communicated to customers and stores
  • Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best
  • Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence

You will need

  • FMCG or General Merchandise background
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Experience of managing a trade and events plan
  • Project Management
  • Influencing and stakeholder management
  • Data analysis and numeracy
  • Negotiation
  • MS Office (incl. Excel and Powerpoint)

  • Buying Managers
  • Merchandise Planning Managers and Customer Proposition Managers
  • Store Stock Planning and Supply Chain Managers
  • Finance Manager, Dunhummby
  • Suppliers

You will be accountable for:

  • Team (circa 2)
  • Event and trade plan performance
  • Critical path adherence
  • Event market share
  • Event sales density
