About the role

The Media and Campaign Planning manager is responsible for the creation of ominchannel communications plans across owned and paid media. The role will work closely with the Campaign teams, and this specific role will focus on

You will be responsible for

  • Developing and managing channel-agnostic communication plans, leveraging available insight, data analytics and an excellent working knowledge of digital and offline media channels – to deliver effective, innovative and fully-integrated campaigns. Work will include the planning of both paid media online and offline and Tesco’s vast owned media estate.
  • Specifically, this role will work closely with the Campaign Management team and have a clear focus on identifying the role for channels to deliver against specific campaign objectives.
  • Once the plan has been developed you will then work with the channel specialists to deliver helpful, engaging and innovative customer messages. These specialists will include both experts at the media agency and internal channel expertise.
  • You will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding and working knowledge of all channels, and experience of working with (or at) media agencies to formulate plans. 
  • Responsible for forecasting, managing and measuring large budgets effectively. Working closely with the analytics and measurement team to deliver accurate, insightful and timely reports on both campaign-wide and channel level performance for the relevant business areas/teams. 
  • Continually evolving and adapting plans through a rigorous Test and Learn agenda which encourages innovation.

You will need

  • A broad-ranging media-focused role with experience of working with (or at) media agencies , internal client teams and key industry bodies.
  • A role that has incorporated agency management and governance. 
  • Performance and acquisition background would be preferable.
  • To deliver inspiring briefs and feedback 
  • To develop impactful omnichannel communication 
  • To turn data into actionable insight 
  • To craft a distinctive brand positioning -

You will work with:

  • Media agency (currently MediaCom).
  • Campaign management teams, and channel experts within Marketing Comms, Loyalty/CRM and Online.
  • Media owners Tesco advertise with.
  • Other agencies as required, e.g. advertising and PR

The role will typically be responsible for media investment of £20-30m per annum.
