This is an exciting opportunity for a Strategy Manager to join us in this newly created position, where you will play a strategic role in transforming the future operating model of Tesco stores. Working with our business leaders to tackle the big strategic questions we face, you'll have the chance to shape and grow the role.
• Creating strategic input, challenge and goals for our 3, 5 & 10 year strategic plans
• Supporting the business/function with prioritisation of stragic opportunities, including leading cross-functional teams to deliver value
• Performing competitor reviews and benchmarks
• Identifying industry / technological innovation opportunities
• Working with Operational Development Director to develop and support creation of strategies for each stream and the Operations Development Strategy
• Identifying and monitoring long-term internal and global external trends, holding a well-informed perspective on the threats and challenges for grocery retailing
• Taking ownership of a project’s module and drive the problem solving by identifying key issues and developing effective solutions
• Working with the broader business to co-develop fact-based recommendations that are both insightful and practical to execute
• Assisting in the development of CEO-ready presentation materials
• Contributing to the team's long-term success by actively participating in other projects’ problem solving sessions and by supporting other areas such as internal knowledge development or recruiting
The successful candidate will ideally come from a consulting background within retail, having worked with a client to build strategy or have experience of building a strategy for a team.
You will also have;
• Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
• Demonstrable experience of using technical and behavioral skills to solve complex problems and effectively communicate recommendations

• Passion for retail and consumer-facing industries
• Creativity, independent thinking and ability to develop forward-thinking solutions
• Ability to grasp the big picture and priorities tasks accordingly
• Ability to quickly analyses and synthesize information into clear and concise recommendations
• Track-record of building relationships quickly at all levels of the business
• Previous experience working in a corporate organisation or consultancy firm is desirable
