About the role

In this role, you will be the cost manager for a designated region, minimizing costs and maximizing value. Fully accountable for the accuracy, quality, tracking and reporting of scheme costs ensuring your region is financially compliant.

You will be responsible for

  • The accuracy, quality, tracking and reporting of scheme costs for my region (both feasibility and development work)
  • Ensuring every scheme is delivered for the best value.
  • Investigating, driving and delivering sustainable cost reductions, minimizing costs and maximizing value.
  • Ensuring schemes meet the financial hurdle rates and follow the right cost governance process.
  • Ownership of papers for cost approval meetings, including variations.
  • Managing our external Quantity surveyors through the process.
  • Ensuring my region is financially compliant including year end.
  • Working with group procurement to review market rates ensuring we are getting the best deal
  • Collaborating and supporting regional colleagues, Tesco business services and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence building and maintaining the Property brand

You will need

The successful candidate will have experience of driving cost saving opportunities on a big scale within a retail environment. 

You will also have; 

  • Quantity Surveying background ideal
  • Analytical / Forecasting / Financial experience 
  • Understanding of Property and Finance processes.
  • Stakeholder Management at all levels
  • Ability to translate complex data into simple data
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft office proficiency
  • Understanding of industry standard processes relevant to cost management
