About the role

Reporting to The Head of Procurement Strategy & Delivery, the Procurement Capability Lead will play a critical role in the development and implementation of a robust procurement learning and development approach across the whole of Tesco’s GSNFR Group Procurement functions
 
Within this role you’ll lead on the development and delivery of Tesco GSNFR Group Procurement’s learning and development strategy, ensuring that learning is aligned to both the Group and functions’ strategic priorities. To bring expert industry knowledge in order to develop the best approach, tools and techniques to support our vision to become the leading Procurement team in our industry built upon highly skilled end to end managers of the supplier network with the ultimate aim to establish a Procurement Academy 

You will be responsible for

  • Develop and implement a Best in Class approach to Procurement Learning & Development
  • Develop the GSNFR Learning & Development Strategy
  • Work closely with those across the GSNFR Procurement community to drive adoption and support for the new model
  • Ensure a consistent approach is implemented across all parts of the Tesco Group with regards to GSNFR Procurement skills and capability development
  • Determine the most appropriate mechanism for assessing and grading Procurement skills (e.g. CIPS or alternative) 
  • Benchmark against other high performing procurement organisations
  • Ensure the full team is highly trained and qualified according to their level and career progression
  • Ensure the appropriate soft skills training mechanisms are in place to support all members of the team
  • Implement a Procurement Academy approach which enables and recognises progression and is aligned to career development
  • Continually adapt and update the learning and development toolbox to remain up to date and aligned to new technologies and techniques. 
  • Lead the GSNFR graduate programme, ensuring that all graduates undertaking roles within GSNFR are taken through a structured journey of development 
 

You will need

  • Proven experience in establishing and setting up a learning and development framework
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement including senior stakeholder engagement
  • Proven team working approach
  • Deep understanding of procurement capabilities and internationally recognised procurement qualifications
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
