At Tesco we have a large number of colleague and customers in store interacting with Technology, from Scan as you Shop, different checkout options through to the tools that are core for our colleagues to run the operation, eg. PDAs for stock routines, Multi-Purpose PC, printers etc.
This is a core area for running and maintaining our current estate whilst working closely with the product and business teams to define the estate for tomorrow.
The team actively manages our third party maintenance vendors, hardware selection and deployment as well supporting a busy new stores opening and refresh programme.
The STPM’s role within Stores Hardware is to stand over the technical delivery of the business strategy. This requires close working with our Product and Engineering streams to ensure clarity of outcome, dependencies, resource challenges ahead of time etc . As the STPM you and your technical programme team will have visibility across the whole area to support the trade-offs and decisions that need to be considered to deliver the relevant outcomes. This will be supported by the relevant teams, and the STPM should confirm that quality & value are baked in, while ensuring that risks & issues are communicated appropriately. Vendor management of our 3rd part hardware support
Hardware strategy for BAU devices
Supporting the strategy for the future hardware in Tesco stores.
Hardware deployment in store for agree programmes
A number of store based programmes.
