About the role

Build relationships with stakeholders and lead a team that delivers insight ensuring that our customer needs are embedded in our propositions and plans, enabling Tesco to grow sales and loyalty.

You will be responsible for

  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
  • Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best
  • Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious
  • Turning data into insight that shapes propositions that acquire, grow and retain customers
  • Combining data sets from multiple sources that explain simply the what, so what and now what actions that will improve how we serve customers
  • Leading the insight to shape Own Brand propositions in Packaged, Clothing and GM
  • Embedding the KPIs and language to drive customer growth in all categories (Packaged, Clothing, GM)
  • Building new and better methodologies and managing key agencies and our contractual agreements with them
  • Building skills and capabilities of the team to ensure we are learning, applying new methods and continually improving how we work
  • Bringing data and insight to life for business leaders through clear and impactful dashboards, presentation and storytelling - making the complex simple

People, budgets and other resources you will be accountable for in the job:

  • Insight budget allocated to functional area per annum - variable depending on priorities set within year.
  • Dotted line accountability for dunnhumby and TBS delivery teams

Operational skills relevant for this job:

  • Ability to break down and analyse and problems into insight delivery plans that use the appropriate data, skills, method, agency mix to deliver the right output
  • Ability to develop & run highly performing Insight teams
  • Strong numerical, analytical & modelling skills

Experience relevant for this job:

  • 10 years experience in leading Insight teams
  • Proven ability of translating business strategy into a series of opportunities via robust insight. 
  • Political savvy and strong consulting skills to partner effectively with multiple agencies and stakeholders
  • FMCG, Retail, Food Service experience desirable
