About the role

Customers are at the heart of everything we do.

It takes lots of different people to run a store and this is a job for doers, with plenty of variety. It’s a committed role, full of everyday challenges, but that’s one of the things that makes it so rewarding.

To be eligible for the Kickstart programme you will need to be:

  • Aged 16-24
  • Unemployed and have been in receipt of Universal Credit for 6 months or more
  • Referred by your Jobcentre Work Coach
  • Be available to work for 25+ hours
  • Be able to undertake a 6-month training programme

In return we will offer you:

· A dedicated Buddy/Mentor available throughout your 6-month training programme

· Support and guidance with employability skills including:

  •  Work principles and basic skills
  •  CV building

  •  How to look for long-term work
  •  Career advice
  •  Setting goals

You will need

You’ll be someone with great communication skills and works well in a team, while being ready to roll up your sleeves and do what’s needed to give our customers great service.

  • Get to know your customers, greet them with a smile and serve them with pride
  • Take time to listen, and help out wherever you can
  • Make decisions that are right for our customers

We have over 250 Kickstart 6-month work placements available across selected stores, CFCs and DCs.

If you are aged 16-24 and in receipt of Universal Credits please contact your work coach to find out how you can apply to gain valuable paid work experience to build your confidence and employability skills to support your future.
