About the role

This Procurement Manger role manages the procurement process for selecting the property consultancy services who will support the Property teams here at Tesco.

Consultancy Services include Agent, Architects + CAD, Asbestos, Building & Land Surveys, Mechanical & Engineering (M&E), Environmental, Highways, Landscape Architect, Noise Consultant, Planning Consultant, Principle Design, Project Management, Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Health & Safety Advisory etc. 

The key responsibilities in this role will be to provide the Property teams with key performance and industry insight data, helping the teams improve performance of the operation and deliver change and innovation through contractual compliance and supplier management.

You will be responsible for

  • Lead the delivery of Property Consultancy Strategy which covers the selection of service providers, reduces risk in the supply chain and aims to provide operational excellence.  
  • Gain industry insight to analyse market trends, understand the impact of market conditions and to provide operational colleagues with recommendations to reduce risk. 
  • Defined supplier management methods to facilitate trusting relationships with suppliers providers to enable a long term collaborative strategy for the future. 
  • Understanding the category cost base, addressable spend and areas for improvement.
  • Lead projects that provide value within the category; balancing operational excellent with the most cost effective solution. Providing innovative solutions and new ways of working.
  • Build successful working relationships with stakeholders through regular engagement providing a value add service. 
  • A focus on warm strategic negotiations, long term contracts and collaborative supplier governance. 

You will need

  • An understanding of Property Consultancy is desirable.
  • Procurement expertise are essential; with negotiation experience desirable.
  • Strong communicator and the ability the network with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen is desired.
  • Experience in Project Management.
