About the role

The Senior Product Manager for Tesco Home and navigation is a role for a customer focused heavy hitter. You must pull together a vision that is best for the customer and Tesco overall among competing needs and stakeholders. In this role you will be shaping the entry point and navigation around both web and apps for Britain’s largest grocery retailer, a household brand with many inspiring stories to share, also extending into banking, Telecom.

You will define and execute the strategy and roadmap for the web and app homepage/screen and navigation. You will be empowered to work in a collaborative and iterative manner with dedicated engineers, designers, analysts, and researchers. The team in this space will be very senior, with a view to influence other teams where needed. Collaborative leadership will be a crucial trait, while taking principled decisions where needed. Your experience should span web and app and prove your ability to think beyond individual features to optimise the broader customer experience and business positioning.

As the Senior Product Manager, reporting to the Head of Product for Customer Platforms you will interface with all tiers of the organisation ­— from the development team to the executive suite. Your stakeholder management experience and communication skills will be key as you balance the needs of multiple customer segments and business areas. You will need to wisely combine your vision with qualitative and quantitative research to lead the market in the long term while iteratively delivering value to our customers and the business.                 

Your team will evolve with the product area and rely on your strong leadership through both discovery and delivery at a high pace. You will set OKRs that ladder up to company level goals and empower your team to achieve them. There is opportunity for line management as the area grows. You will also be working closely with marketing and operational trading and content teams to adapt processes.

You will be responsible for

  • Have accountability for a large and complex product domain, and drive product strategy, roadmap and execution for that by leading a team of talented PMs.
  • Relentlessly seek to understand the needs and pains of my customers and business stakeholders.
  • Define a bold and insights driven strategy and roadmap for my area.
  • Work with my team and peers to develop shared, ambitious OKRs and hold ourselves accountable to these.
  • Prioritise roadmaps with multiple success criteria and decisively resolve trade-offs with peers and senior leaders.
  • Iteratively improve the customer experience, adapting to new insights and working with your cross functional team and stakeholders to define next steps.
  • Proactively partner with my peers and senior stakeholders to set the future direction of my product as part of the wider business strategy.
  • Contribute in capability and capacity planning for Product Management to provide clarity and stability.
