Welwyn Garden City - Hybrid Working
If you are looking for a career in Hospitality, we are now recruiting for a Business Management Trainee to join our team. This is a rare opportunity where you can gain a wide range of experience by working within various teams including Marketing, Food Development and Insight, Commercial, IT to supporting operational excellence in our Cafés, and online channels – we’ll make sure you maximise your opportunity to learn and develop your skills.
We’re looking for a self-motivated Business Management Trainee with an energetic and enthusiastic attitude, not forgetting a passion for hospitality. You’ll love a challenge and be able to think on your feet. The real success in this role will come from working as part of a team and working collaboratively across all our core business disciplines.
Our Business Management Trainee role will allow you to gain a breadth of valuable business experience early in your career. You’ll have the opportunity to work in different parts of our hospitality head office business as part of your career path with us, giving you the broadest experience possible in areas that need your unique skill set the most.
You might start your time with us by making improvements to our supply chain - developing, trialling, and rolling out a solution, so that our cafés can continue to get the right products, at the right time. Then you may find you spend your second role in our marketing team, working with suppliers and the category food development team to ensure product quality, or maybe you’ll join IT projects and be responsible for proactively identifying opportunities to deliver process improvement where there is a benefit to the business.
You’ll build your skills for the future with real-life experience, workshops and resources, as well as support and mentoring from your colleagues. Heart, our on-site training academy makes it easy to take advantage of learning sessions - from quick Lunch and Learns to more in-depth courses.
Whilst the role can be flexible, you will be required to spend part of your working week at our Welwyn Garden City office. The office is a relaxed and friendly environment, with a casual dress code. We have flexible workspaces and places to enjoy down-time with colleagues. Office colleagues get a laptop, so they can work anywhere on campus and from home.

Our aim is to attract and welcome a diverse range applicants from all walks of life and we would love to hear from you!
We have recently announced that we will be moving towards a more blended working week – combining office and remote working. Our base will be the office, where we connect, collaborate and innovate – and there will be the expectation for everyone to be in the office more often than not. For Head Office roles we therefore expect colleagues to spend a proportion of their time at our offices.
We are supportive of colleagues having conversations with hiring managers about what office presence will look like in the context of the role.
