About the role

The insight team’s mission is to influence Tesco to make confident decisions because we understand Customers and Colleagues better than anyone.

Our key priorities are setting the customer agenda, commercialising insight, business partnering internally and externally, storytelling and democratising insight.

In this role you will use insight expertise to build positive relationships with senior colleagues, to define and embed a strategically impactful insight programme which directly influences key decisions and ensures we put customers at the centre of our business.

You will be responsible for

  • Main point of contact and Insight partner for Seasonal propositions (Christmas, Easter, etc). You will analyse the performance of events, listen to customer feedback, and propose ways we can improve performance in the future.
  • Build and display commercial 'savviness', understanding the dependencies and subject matter areas of stakeholders - through this identify new ways to use insight to tackle business problems, and also ensure insight recommendations always show an awareness of the bigger picture.
  • Defining the insight team brand and points of stakeholder engagement, which covers contributing both to land annual 'landmark' cross-team initiatives, and the ongoing rhythm and routine deliverables.
  • Pro-actively identifying and bringing new insights to improve understanding of the market and customers.
  • Coordinate the delivery of projects for your internal partners, this will mean collaborating with insight delivery teams to ensure briefs are clear and outputs fit for purpose. You will also need to lead projects independently based on team structure and workload.

You will need

  • Proven experience in Insight roles (either analytics or research) demonstrating ability to land insights that drive a positive change in business decisions and performance
  • Experience in a fast paced, customer facing industry.
  • Creative and structured problem solving, and issue resolution skills 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and commercial savviness
