Job Description

Senior product managers are expected to build a reputation as a specialist within the business and contribute heavily to evolution of the Product job family practices and processes. You will be expected to demostrate proficiency in explaining future trends in your area and explain these to management.

As a senior product manager you should:
* have proven experience managing products and delivering value to your customers
* be able to manage more complex products
* be a subject matter expert for your product
* be able to coach or mentor other members in the team

Vision and Strategy
The minimum requirements for this role are:
Customer focused
Experience implementing and driving towards a product vision
Experience using qualitive and quantitative data sources to create a vision
Knows the business strategy and experience aligning their product vision to it
Experience creating implementing and leading a product strategy
Focuses on outcomes not output
Possesses good technical knowledge
Experience of defining measures of success for your product and using to deliver value
Experience managing and running a prioritised product roadmap
Experience of prioritising accordingly to balance initial value vs long term value
Experience of leading NFRs for your product
Keeps up to date with the latest thinking in the industry
Knows the importance of balancing future needs to prevent bottlenecks

Product Methodology
The minimum requirements for this role are:
Experience of working in different flavours of agile
Experience leading the ceremonies involved in an agile process and knows the purpose of them
Experience delivering value through a cross functional initiative by working with other product teams

Product Design
The minimum requirements for this role are:
Experience of using different research techniques to deliver value
Experience of using different design and testing techniques (e.g. AB tests) and can talk through what the results mean
Experience ensuring your product is secure and private by design
Experience working with Design Research & Analytics Teams throughout product discovery

Product Delivery
The minimum requirements for this role are:
Experience using several different prioritisation techniques effectively
Experience analysing data to make well informed decisions
Experience using data to measure feasibility and viability
Experience understanding complex problems and breaking them down into stories
Experience working with an engineering team
Experience of managing dependencies on other teams
Experience of keeping everyone informed up to date and pointing in the same direction
Strong working relationships with TPMs to deliver change
Experience working with external suppliers

Technology skills
Technically competent to influence and understand the solution context & approach and aid engineering in estimating the complexity of work being requested.
Understand Tech debt the value Tech upgrades can unlock and can hold objective conversations with your technology counterparts to prioritize it during any sprint.
Understand & specify non-functional requirements for your Product ( Performance/ Security etc.) and collaborate with engineering to ensure those are met.
Understand a high-level technical architecture/ Domain model to be able to foresee the impact on dependencies delivery timelines and implementation plans.
Proactively keeps up to date with relevant technologies Product Management concepts & techniques.
