Job Description

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Product Manager to join Tesco’s Price Engine Team. Our mission is to create flexible price capabilities that enable strategic decision-making by focusing on improving the experiences of our customers and colleagues.

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and completing the vision and strategy for a product within the Price Engine Team. You will focus on managing a part of the price lifecycle of clearances as part of our price engine. Clearances are prices set for products to most profitably clear stock and are responsible for thousands of price changes leading to £Ms of sales each day at Tesco. Your product will cover all the countries that Tesco operate in stores and online, supporting Tesco’s core purpose and values.

We are looking for a high-reaching individual who can demonstrate a passion for solving problems, working collaboratively, and adopting technology and change.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage a sophisticated API product and drive the product strategy, roadmap, and execution.
  • Accountable for identifying the measures of success (OKRs) and resulting performance of your product.
  • Continuously pursue the needs and pains of your customers and business stakeholders.
  • Prioritise roadmaps and decisively resolve trade-offs with peers and stakeholders.
  • Empower research, design, analytics, and engineering teams to design and develop solutions to solve the most valuable business needs.
  • Measure and communicate value built to all stakeholders, all the time.
  • Work as part of a larger product team, with a culture for shared goals, helping where appropriate as the need arises.

  • Knowledge of product management best practices and methodologies and technical understanding.
  • Technically proficient in influencing and understanding the solution context and approach (legacy, tactical, strategic) and aiding engineering in estimating the complexity of developments.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with peers, stakeholders, and teams across the business. Able to demonstrate these relationships to build consensus, motivate change, and deliver value.
  • Ability to work in a complex and changing environment which encompasses multiple product and engineering teams, both local and remote, to deliver enterprise-wide applications and features.
