As a Software Development Engineer 2; you will be a key contributor within our dynamic team at Tesco; specializing in the development of high-quality user interfaces. Your strong foundation in computer science and software engineering principles will enable you to take ownership of the front-end solutions in your domain.

You will be part of the Scrum team; focusing on building intuitive and scalable applications that enhance user experiences across various platforms. We are looking for developers proficient in modern React frameworks; TypeScript; and related technologies; with a keen interest in creating modular and efficient UI components.


Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain high-quality user interfaces using React; TypeScript; and Node.js.

- Design and implement intuitive UI components for workflow management; enhancing user navigation and interaction.

- Able to create UI applications from scratch.

- Enable dynamic component addition; allowing users to customize their experiences based on individual needs.

- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to create visually appealing and user-friendly web applications.

- Apply responsive design principles to ensure accessibility across various devices.

- Create reusable components to promote consistency and efficiency in application development.

- Utilize micro frontend architecture to build scalable and modular web applications.

- Contribute to both client-side and server-side components for seamless full-stack solutions.

- Manage local storage solutions to improve user experience and application performance.

- Optimize content delivery using CDNs for efficient resource loading.

- Integrate APIs and back-end services to support front-end functionality.

- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

- Conduct code reviews; unit testing; and debugging to ensure code quality.

- Stay updated with emerging trends in web technologies and propose innovative solutions.

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Implement A/B testing to evaluate feature effectiveness and user preferences; using data to inform decision-making.

- Monitor feature usage analytics to identify which features are most utilized by users; enabling informed prioritization and enhancements.

- Support feature toggling for on/off based development; allowing for controlled rollouts and user feedback collection.

- Use Java and Python for back-end development and integration tasks as needed.

- Implement secure authentication mechanisms using technologies such as OneLogin and OpenID Connect.
