Customers are at the heart of everything we do.

It takes lots of different people to run a store/centre and this is a job for doers, with plenty of variety. It’s a committed role, full of everyday challenges, but that’s one of the things that makes it so exciting.

Being a colleague in one of our stores/centres means that you will help to serve our shoppers better every day.

You’ll meet great people, learn new things and be part of a specialist diverse team where everyone is welcome.

You will be responsible for

Coordinating the team and operation to deliver the prefect online order:

  • Completing start and end of shift procedures and handovers and making sure all decisions are right for customers and colleagues during my shift.
  • Coordinating the operation, making sure colleagues are in the right place, go for breaks at the right time and collaborating closely with colleagues and 3rd party engineers to ensure customers receive the perfect online order, on time.
  • Ensuring my centre and the team always delivers the perfect order and being the person who deals with any customer issues to ensure they receive great service and a full resolution to any problems they may have.
  • Being the go to person for colleagues in the absence of a Manager for their day to day queries.
  • Carry out safety checks and van checks as part of my shift routines, collaborating closely with colleagues to make sure everyone is safe.

The centre is clean and tidy:

  • Making sure the centre is always clean and tidy paying particular attention to the yard and loading areas on an hourly basis.
  • Ensure the van maintenance and cleaning schedules are completed to reduce off road time and maintain a positive brand image of Tesco.
  • Providing constructive feedback and coaching to colleagues around standards.

I can get what I want:

  • Prioritise the stock routines of star lines and products that matter to our customers.
  • Delivering centre routines ‘right first time’ so there is the best availability for customers to be able to receive what they have ordered.
  • Having a proactive approach to over/under stocked items and communicating with colleagues completing stock activities.

The prices are good:

  • Phoning customers to resolve any payment card issues or stored transactions.
  • Collaborating with the Customer Service Centre to resolve customer and order issues and rescheduling orders and/or late vans.
  • Taking immediate action for any over-charges and refunds preventing any re-occurrence.

I don’t queue:

  • Talking to colleagues about overtime or multiskilling that is available, so resource and skills are always in the right place at the right time.
  • Always putting the customer first and consider them in everything I do.
  • Being readily available to resolve customer queries, leaving them with a smile on their face.

The colleagues are helpful:

  • Adjusting the service I give to each customer to meet their needs.
  • Recognising and celebrating colleagues giving great service.
  • Understanding what may be getting in the way of individuals delivering a great service and helping them to remove these obstacles.

You will need

  • To be a great communicator who will share knowledge, experience and best practices, you understand the importance of what you do and working collaboratively across the UFC to deliver results

Should you be successful in your application, your offer will be subject to and conditional upon you providing your bank account details before your agreed start date.

About us

Our vision here at Tesco is to become every customer's favourite way to shop, whether they are at home or out on the move. Our core purpose is ‘Serving Britain's shoppers a little better every day’. Our business was built with a simple mission – to be the champion for customers, helping them to enjoy a better quality of life and an easier way of living. This hasn't changed. Customers want great products at great value which they can buy easily and it's our job to deliver this in the right way for them. In the UK, we serve some 66 shoppers every second, so it's our goal to ensure every one of those customers experiences just a little better service on each visit.

At Tesco, inclusion means that Everyone’s Welcome. Everyone is treated fairly and with respect; by valuing individuality and uniqueness we create a sense of belonging. Diversity and inclusion have always been at the heart of Tesco. It is embedded in our values: we treat people how they want to be treated. We always want our colleagues to feel they can be themselves at work and we are committed to helping them be at their best. Across the Tesco group we are building an inclusive workplace, a place to actively celebrate the cultures, personalities and preferences of our colleagues – who in turn help to build the success of our business and reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
