You will be responsible for

Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence and have these specific risk responsibilities:

  • Coordination and supporting the planning of key seasonal events (e.g. Christmas and Easter), ensuring all teams are aligned to help deliver against the business objectives
  • Supporting and developing our tactical response plans to any emerging threats or opportunities that arise during the financial year
  • Ensuring key stakeholders understand the relevant opportunities to help deliver more for customers and Tesco
  • Seeking out commercial opportunities, leveraged by insight from customers, internal expert stakeholders and supplier partners, and conducting analysis to identify optimisation projects which materially improve sales, profit, or customer experience
  • Foster strong relationships across Technology, CEC, Business Support, Commercial & Fulfilment, and the wider Online team to ensure we are able to move and execute at pace, when opportunities are identified
  • Thinking creatively to frame, structure and help solve complex problems within a dynamic environment
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and work with the relevant teams to create clarity.
  • Awareness of what is happening in and around the Online grocery market, with a view to what the risks and opportunities that may arise from them
  • Provide guidance and development to online business optimisation managers within the team
  • Knowing your stuff, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm, the way you manage makes Tesco a great place to work and shop
  • Being flexible in your approach, you are able to manage various projects and programmes of work across different areas within Business Support, improving different parts of the shopping trip for customers or simplifying our operations with new initiatives.

You will need

Experience relevant for this job: 

  • Online e-commerce background & passion for retail
  • Commercial mindset and the ability to spot an opportunity
  • Understanding of market dynamics & trends
  • Experience in solving complex problems with pragmatic solutions
  • Delivering cross functional projects / programmes
  • Coordinating meetings with large groups of stakeholders
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight timelines
  • Lead high profile projects to improve profitability for the Online channel
  • Financial and business planning People / team management
  • Good understanding of financial performance
  • Strong engagement & influencing skills including senior stakeholders
