About the role

Capability is at the heart of learning at Tesco.  This role is predominantly focused on identifying technical skills and designing learning solutions for our Finance Head Office colleagues. 
 
It will entail strong stakeholder management, a comprehensive understanding of the end to end Learning cycle and a passion for enabling people to fulfil their potential and grow their capability. 
 
The successful candidate will be an experienced self-starter with a track record for delivering effective technical learning solutions in a corporate environment.
 
You will own and champion the Learning blueprint, sharing expertise and best practice with stakeholders to enable a relevant, impactful and engaging learning experience for colleagues which meets Tesco training standards.

You will be responsible for

  • Leading multiple, complex learning projects for Finance
  • Building learning and development capability in Finance to enable teams to successfully identify learning needs and skills
  • Ensuring technical learning initiatives follow learning design best practice and enable colleagues to have the best possible learning experiences 
  • Evaluating learning initiatives to ensure we can measure the return on investment to colleagues and the business. 
  • Using insight and data to steer your projects
  • Consulting / partnering with stakeholders and subject matter experts to build effective learning solutions
  • Championing and role modelling all leadership and management skills development at Tesco
  • Actively contributing to a culture of Learning at Tesco
  • Managing our relationships with our external expert partners 

You will need

You’ll need to have demonstrated experience of:
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Stakeholder management 
  • Great project management and presentation skills
  • Expert communication skills 
  • Building trusted relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Striving for continuous improvement, finding better ways of doing things
  • Bring about changes quickly and effectively
  • Dedication to putting customers and colleagues at the heart of everything you do
  • Innovation and pragmatism, examples of creative solutions that really work
  • An understanding of Finance/Financial experience will be helpful
You will also be:
 
  • Able to effectively plan and organise, be responsive, creative and a self-starter 
  • Able to build trusted relationships with peers and senior leadership 
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation. 
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of latest learning trends and how people learn
