Our network comprises of both national and regional distribution centres that support the movement of food, general merchandise and clothing products.  For stock to flow through the network without any issues product information should be packed efficiently and conforms with our delivery and stock delivered on time.

The team collaborate with internal teams (Supply Chain, Merchandising, Buying, Distribution, Technical, Finance & Tax) and external teams (freight managers, shipping lines, hauliers & airfreight forwarders). Logistics Performance is responsible for maintaining & developing the system architecture & tools we use to manage our global operation. They also analyse operational data to gather insight for Global Logistics, allowing us to understand the performance of each element of the operation.

Primary are responsible for the delivery of products from suppliers into the Tesco distribution network. They work closely with established logistics partners such as Fowler Welch, Warrens and Eddie Stobart’s to get the best service and coverage across the UK & Europe. Primary provide multi-modal solutions to deliver the best availability for our customers. By Tesco utilising the train we have taken 15m miles per year off our roads, with Carbon Emissions savings of 8.3m kg C02 emissions per year

Within a year of the new technology deployment, Tesco will deliver a saving of 7,346 tonnes of CO2 across the UK & ROI. It is predicted the fleet will achieve even greater savings year-on-year as more Grocery Home Shopping drivers engage with Lightfoot’s tech, which encourages smooth, safe & efficient driving through app-based tech that rewards better driving. These improvements have been realised with our existing fleet of vehicles & its employee engagement is set to rise as emissions fall.

Our campus sits just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Welwyn Garden city with its many shops, restaurants, pubs and sports facilities. Close to the A1 and with frequent trains running to Kings Cross in as little as 26 minutes (free shuttle buses take you between the station and office) the campus is well connected to the surrounding area.
