About the role

We are a team of Senior Commercial Partnership Managers, Commercial Partnership Managers and a Partnership Experience Manager. We are predominately responsible for managing the partnerships with Clubcard Reward Partners, both developing new partnerships, renegotiating existing contracts, forming joint business plans and running the day to day accounts of these partners. We sit in the Loyalty Memberships and CRM team under Tash Whitmey. We work cross functionally with Online teams in Content and Product; Marketing and Legal teams.

You will be responsible for

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:

  • Line management/active coaching of team, to deliver best practice in both partnership and commercial management of our partner base
  • Ownership of partner category/ies which significantly contribute to the Clubcard reward partner cost ratio/budgets and customer booking volume
  • Customer and financial KPI delivery aligned to Clubcard targets
  • Build & manage partner relationships through a partner strategy, to develop a market leading loyalty proposition, aligned to the total Clubcard and Customer plan. Identifying and assessing new partners to deliver customer and business needs
  • Utilise Tesco cross functional resources to build, manage and deliver Joint Business Planning opportunities for your top tier partners, enabling both a better proposition for customers and improved opportunities for both partners and Tesco
  • Where appropriate, you are the project lead for cross category initiatives

You will need

You’ll need to have demonstrated experience of:

  • Pragmatic, lateral and creative thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to lead and enable change, where change betters Tesco, Partner and most importantly our Customers
  • Self-starter who effectively balances a working style of both being responsive and planned, whilst able to delegate and organise themselves/others to meet the business needs. Clearly identifies business need priorities and escalates in a timely fashion
  • Able to build solid working relationships with team, peers and senior leadership. Driving best practice, sharing knowledge, coaching and supporting others
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation
  • Make a positive contribution and impact to the Partners and wider Loyalty team. Sets the example to wider team, with the ability to lead the team in absence of WL 3

Experience required

You’ll need to have demonstrated experience of:

  • Effective joint business planning and delivery of cross functional projects, delivered through excellent networking and collaboration
  • Contract negotiation across large FMCG brands/led a  Product category reset process
  • Building trusted and sustainable partnerships with a complex/large partner/supplier base – feedback shows collaborative and responsive way of working
  • Leading and developing teams
  • Broad stakeholder management at a senior level, manages upwards effectively
